About Us
OpenVerdict Inc. is a 501(c)(3) civic-tech nonprofit. We believe the law belongs to the people who live with it, and that the room where it is decided should be open to them.
The CourtRoom, our deliberation platform, brings court records into the public square. Every case is sourced from primary records: federal and state dockets, published opinions, and agency enforcement matters. Visitors read the story of a case, hear structured arguments on both sides, and cast their own verdict. No login is required to read or vote.
Cases link to the actual court record, not summaries of summaries.
Arguments live on either side of each case, with citations and replies.
Every verdict and argument becomes part of a citable public record.
OpenVerdict was founded by college students who believe courtrooms used to be the public's room, and that somewhere along the way the public stopped showing up. We build and run the platform on top of classes and day jobs, and we say plainly what is real and what is still growing.
